Center for Entrepreneurship, Development, and Leadership
Investing in today's and future Africa's grassroots leaders and entrepreneurs.
Mission and Goal
Promoting excelence in leadership and unveiling the entreprenuership potential empowering individuals to take charge of their own destiny and excel in today's modern world regardless of educational background. We aim to raise awareness of the Uganda youth on their personal and professional capabilities and potentials. Our goal is to help individuals become job creators other than job seekers.
We aim to enhance the capacities and competitive advantage of rural youth to enable them to enter the job market as qualified employees and business owners. Hope Academy's belief is that a strong enterpreneurial approach practically implementend at the grass roots gives an effective path to creation of sustainable development opportunities in effort to meet the essential human needs.
"The quality of leadership, more than any other single factor, determines the success or failure of an organization." - Fred Fiedler & Martin Chemers Improving Leadership Effectiveness
The center will train today's and future Africa's leaders with strong emphasis on strengthening the moral fiber, accountability, integrity, and innovations that promote social justice. We aim to produce the new breed of charismatic leaders who will lead Africa through the 21st century. Africa needs strong leaders in order to achieve self-sustainance of both her innovative government and non-government ventures.
Our students are equiped with practical skills and information needed to transform their creative and inovative entreprenurial ideas into reality. We emphasize experiential and active learning techniques which assist our students understand how to apply learned concepts and theories into practive in the real-world business and non-profit ventures. The program is focused on community engagement and promoting the common good. Our students undertake inovative projects whose outcomes empower not only themselves but the community around them.
In everything we do, we aim for excellence and sustainability. We are trying to build a model that could be replicated elsewhere in Africa. The current education system lacks emphasis on leadership and entreprenuership. Africa will only thrive if it breeds its own indeginous leaders who can be held accountable to their own people.
Target Groups
Entreprenuership and leadership classes and seminars are required for all Hope Academy students at all levels- after school program and vocational school students. The program draws from a pool of local entreprenuers, successful business owners, government and non-government executives in addition to a vibrant team of international volunteers with expertise in a broad range of disciplines.
